Toyota announces the STAR Safety System is now standard on all new Toyota’s

Toyota of Newnan is pleased to announce that Toyota’s Accident Avoidance Technology, or STAR Safety System is now standard on all new Toyota’s.  You may be asking yourself, what is the STAR Safety System?  Well, good question.  Hopefully we can help clear that up for you.  The STAR Safety System is a combination of 5 accident avoidance technologies and incorporates the following features:

Vehicle Stability ControlHelps prevent slips and loss of traction by reducing engine power and applying the brake force to the wheels that need it.

Traction ControlHelps maintain traction on wet, icy, loose or uneven surfaces by applying brake force to the spinning wheel(s).

Anti-Lock Brake SystemPrevents brakes from locking up by “pulsing” brake pressure to each wheel to help you stay in control in emergency braking situations.

Electronic Brake-Force DistributionRedistributes brake force to help keep the rear wheels from locking up during sudden braking situations.

Brake AssistDetects sudden or “panic” braking and adds the full pressure needed to help prevent a collision.

Toyota is the first full-line manufacturer to make the features of the Star Safety System standard on all vehicles.  For more information on the Toyota Star Safety System go to toyota.com/safety.

At Toyota, safety is the #1 concern and Toyota of Newnan has great deals on an amazing selection of new Toyota’s featuring the Star Safety System.

Toyota Tacoma Gets First Installation of the iPad

Well it didn’t take long after the launch of the iPad for the guys over at SoundMan Car Audio in Southern California to install one in a car, a Toyota Tacoma to be exact.  As a matter of fact this video was shot the day the iPad was released.   The installation video below shows the dock connector hooked into an Onkyo ND-S1 Digital Media Transport, Audison Bit One D/A converter and, no surprise here, a McIntosh amplifier.  With only minor custom plastic work, the Toyota Tacoma’s center stack appears to be an excellent fit for the iPad.  We only wonder how long it takes for us to see these rolling through the streets of Atlanta…

How to Kill a Toyota Truck

This isn’t the freshest of content, but we thought we’d share for those of you who have yet to see it….

So, just how tough are Toyota trucks?  The folks over at Top Gear set out to see just what it would take to kill one of these ultra-tough and durable trucks.  Toyota over the years has been able to build a strong reputation for selling well-built, reliable, and long lasting cars, trucks, and SUV’s.  Despite the recent distaste among many American consumers for thirsty trucks and SUVs, Toyota is still building some of the highest quality trucks on the road, and knowing that your truck is going to last without much more than routine maintenance (and a friendly wash from time to time) certainly gives Toyota owners an added piece of mind.  The truck of choice in this video series is the Hilux which we know here in the states as the Toyota Tacoma.

Pretty impressive stuff.  We don’t recommend trying any of these stunts in and around Atlanta with your Tacoma.  But it’s nice to know that it would survive.
